Author Trinh Quang Phu donates book on President Ho to Ministry of Foreign Affairs

WVR - On the afternoon of October 22, on behalf of the Ministry, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu received book “Following in His Footsteps” presented by Prof. Dr. and Author Trinh Quang Phu.

Attending the book presentation were Author Nguyen Quang Thieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Writers' Association; Lieutenant General and Author Huu Ưoc, Chairman of the Police Writers' Association; Colonel Tran Cao Kieu, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Publishing House.

Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were Ms. Pham Phuong Chi, Deputy Director of the Department of External Relations and Cultural Diplomacy; Mr. Dao Quyen Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of External Relations and Cultural Diplomacy; Ms. Chu Thi Thu Phương, Senior Specialist of the Department External Relations and Cultural Diplomacy.

Speaking at the book presentation, Prof. Dr. and Author Trinh Quang Phu stated that the book Following in His Footsteps was first published in June 2024 and has now been reprinted nine times. The frequent reprints within a year and a half indicate the book's reception by readers. The joy of an author is when their book is embraced by readers. More importantly, this is a measure of the readers' affection across generations for President Ho Chi Minh.

Author Trinh Quang Phu shared that he spent 10 years working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam with Madame Nguyen Thi Binh. He revealed that the book was a long-cherished project, documenting travels and profound impressions of President Ho Chi Minh from the perspective of someone who met, studied, and followed in His “footsteps” in various countries. The work is a heartfelt tribute to President Ho – the founder of modern Vietnamese diplomacy.

According to the author, in the near future, the Russian Cultural University will reprint the book Following in His Footsteps in Russian and present it to Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi. Author Trinh Quang Phu is also ready to donate 15-20 copies to each Vietnamese Embassy abroad to further spread the book to readers.

Expressing sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. and Author Trinh Quang Phu, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu received the book Following in His Footsteps.

The Deputy Minister thanked Prof. Dr. and Author Trinh Quang Phu for writing the book Following in His Footsteps and highly appreciated the dedication and effort in collecting and compiling by Author Trinh Quang Phu – who has been deeply involved in cultural, historical, and public diplomacy research for many years.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that the book Following in His Footsteps is not only a valuable document about the life, career, and leadership style of President Ho Chi Minh but also contributes to spreading the values of his thoughts, ethics, and diplomatic vision to today's officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
