Any foreign activities in the Hoang Sa without Vietnam's permission are completely illegal and invalid: Spokesperson

On January 9, responding to a reporter's inquiry about Vietnam's reaction to China's opening of a commercial centre on Phu Lam Island in Vietnam's Hoang Sa Archipelago, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized:

"Vietnam has full historical evidence and legal basis to assert its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa Archipelago in accordance with international law. Any foreign activities in the Hoang Sa Archipelago without Vietnam's permission are completely illegal and invalid, Vietnam firmly opposes."
