WVR - On May 19, at the headquarters of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sofia, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet presented a copy of her Letter of Credentials to Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet presented a copy of her Letter of Credentials to Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet conveyed the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son to Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev. She affirmed her commitment to making every effort to promote the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria, with the goal of further strengthening it for the benefit of both nations, and advancing toward a Strategic Partnership.

During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized that the deep-rooted traditional relationship between the two countries provides a strong foundation for mutual cooperation and development in the current context. She affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing its relations with Bulgaria and highly appreciated the progress made in recent years. Notably, the two countries have maintained high-level delegation exchanges, enhanced cooperation across various fields through the Intergovernmental Committee mechanism, regularly coordinated closely and effectively on shared positions and viewpoints, and supported each other in candidacies for important positions in international organizations.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet also proposed a number of directions for strengthening bilateral relations. These include jointly organizing activities in both countries to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, preparing for high-level visits, and boosting cooperation in areas such as politics and diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, science and technology, education and training, tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also expressed gratitude and requested that the Bulgarian Government continue to provide favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria to integrate stably and contribute positively to the host society.

Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova welcomed Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet to Bulgaria as she begins her term of office, affirming that she would provide the best possible conditions for the Ambassador to fulfill her duties and contribute to strengthening Bulgaria–Vietnam relations.

Highly appreciating the good relationship between Bulgaria and Vietnam, built on a foundation of friendship and mutual trust, Deputy Foreign Minister Elena Shekerletova expressed her admiration for Vietnam’s recent achievements in socio-economic development and international integration. She expressed her hope that the two countries would take concrete steps to further deepen their friendship and cooperation in the time ahead.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet proposed some upcoming directions to promote relations between the two countries.

Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova also emphasized Vietnam’s importance in Bulgaria’s foreign policy toward Southeast Asia. She agreed on the need to continue promoting high-level delegation exchanges and to strengthen cooperation at both bilateral and economic levels, in order to increase trade turnover between the two countries. She also underscored the importance of coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.

Earlier, during a meeting with the Director of the State Protocol Department, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet was officially informed that the credential presentation ceremony to Bulgarian President Rumen Radev is scheduled to take place on June 3.
