On June 30, Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh presented a copy of the Letter of Credence from State President Luong Cuong to Dr. Shaya Mohsin Zindani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen.
During the meeting, Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of valuing its relationship with Yemen and emphasized his commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.
On this occasion, Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh also respectfully conveyed a letter from State President Luong Cuong inviting Yemeni President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi to visit Vietnam and attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Countering the Use of Information and Communications Technologies for Criminal Purposes, scheduled to take place in Hanoi on October 25–26, 2025.
Ambassador Hoang highlighted the significance of the Convention and Vietnam’s active efforts, alongside other UN member states, to advance the negotiation and adoption process.
For his part, Minister Shaya Mohsin Zindani expressed deep admiration for President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, and Vietnam’s achievements in socio-economic development and foreign affairs over the past five decades. He assured that the letter from State President Luong Cuong would be respectfully conveyed to President Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi.
The Minister congratulated Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh on his appointment and welcomed his mission as an important bridge in enhancing Vietnam-Yemen relations, especially as Vietnam continues to rise globally and Yemen is gradually rebuilding.
Ambassador Hoang Huu Anh reiterated Vietnam’s appreciation for its relationship with Yemen. Reflecting on 63 years of friendship and cooperation, he noted that the two countries are entering a new phase, where existing potential must be transformed into concrete outcomes in trade, investment, and energy.
The Ambassador affirmed his commitment to advancing Vietnam–Yemen cooperation, including preparations for an upcoming visit by a Yemeni Foreign Ministry delegation to Vietnam and the potential participation of senior Yemeni leaders in the Hanoi Convention signing ceremony later this year.
