The conference was held in a hybrid format amid Vietnam's vigorous implementation of Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW, dated May 4, issued by the Politburo, which identifies private-sector development as a crucial driver of the national economy.
Financial and Accounting Solutions for Private Sector Development
FASPS8 was organised to analyse the context, opportunities, and challenges of Vietnam's private economy from the perspectives of finance, accounting, and transparent governance. It also aimed to share international experiences on digital transformation, modern financial tools, and resource mobilisation models for sustainable development – including the strategic role of the overseas Vietnamese community.
The event served as a large-scale academic forum that connected researchers and expanded the international cooperation network of the Academy of Finance.
The conference brought together delegates and scientists from 36 agencies, universities, research institutes, and financial and credit organisations, both domestically and internationally, along with numerous staff, lecturers, doctoral candidates, and approximately 300 students from the Academy of Finance.
Six In-depth Discussion Sessions and Professional Highlights
Within the framework of the conference, six parallel discussion sessions took place, focusing on key topics: Accounting and Auditing for Sustainable Development in the Private Sector; Corporate Finance; International Finance and Business; Private Enterprise Management (Business Ideas & Innovation); Taxation, Customs & Logistics; and Economic Development in the New Era.
Notably, in Session 6, “Economic Development in the New Era,” chaired by Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoan along with session chairs Dr. Pipattawade Wannaree and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thanh, the session attracted 102 delegates (42 in person, 60 online, including 12 international delegates). Many highly practical presentations were discussed and commented on in depth.
The Organising Committee reported that FASPS8 attracted 152 registered papers. After independent review rounds, 103 outstanding papers were selected for the official proceedings (an acceptance rate of nearly 67.8%), and 30 papers were selected for direct presentation in specialised sessions.
Evidence of Extensive International Cooperation
This event marks a new development in the strategic partnership between the Academy of Finance and Kasetsart University (Thailand) under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Following the faculty exchange program (in which the Academy of Finance delegation taught in Thailand in October 2025), Kasetsart University sent a delegation of 12 staff members, professors, and associate professors to attend and teach directly at the Academy of Finance.
This collaboration not only provides students with access to international teaching methods but also opens up prospects for joint research and co-supervision of doctoral candidates in the future.
Aiming to develop a strategy by 2030, the Academy of Finance strives to become one of the top 5 higher education institutions in Vietnam in Economics, Finance-Banking, Accounting-Auditing, Management, and Technology.
By 2045, the Academy aims to be among the top 200 universities in Asia and the top 1,000 universities globally, adhering to the educational philosophy of “Global Citizens in a Changing World”.
