Addressing the awarding ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung congratulated the winning scientists, and expressed his deep appreciation for their significant contributions and dedication.

He emphasised that in an era where science and technology are key drivers of national development, the award holds special significance, not only as a tribute to the past, but also as an inspiration for the present and a gateway to the future.

It reinforces a belief that Vietnam can rise up through the power of intellect, patriotism, and the spirit embodied by individuals like renowned Vietnamese scientist Tran Dai Nghia—those who dedicate their lives and work to the noble cause of the nation, he added.

Dung affirmed that when a scientific project is honoured and knowledge is successfully transformed into products that serve society, it is a clear statement that Vietnamese scientists are fully capable of mastering technology, fostering innovation, and accompanying the nation's development in a new era - the era of the nation's rise.

To ensure that the award continues to spread its influence more widely within the scientific community and society as a whole, the Deputy PM proposed the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology organise the award annually. He also expressed his hope that scientists will continue to promote the fine tradition of the science and technology sector and contribute more to the cause of building, developing, and protecting the nation.

The Tran Dai Nghia Award, held every three years, focuses on honouring outstanding scientific research works that have been effectively applied in practice in Vietnam. The award-winning projects not only have academic value but also contribute directly to solving urgent and specific issues of the country, ranging from agriculture, natural resources, and environment to energy and health care.

The third edition of this award honours a project on hanging reservoir technology for water storage on cliffs and another on research and development of medium voltage electrical cabinets.
