WVR - On the afternoon of April 22, General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse Ngo Phuong Ly presided over the welcoming ceremony for Republic of Korea (RoK) President Lee Jae Myung and his spouse Kim Hae Kyung at the Presidential Palace amidst the echoes of a 21-gun salute.
At the invitation of General Secretary and President of Vietnam To Lam and his spouse, President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung and his spouse are on a state visit to Vietnam from April 21-24, 2026.

The military band played the national anthems of both countries, while at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a 21-gun salute was fired to welcome the state visit of President Lee Jae Myung and spouse Kim Hae Kyung to Vietnam.
Subsequently, General Secretary and President To Lam invited President Lee Jae Myung to review the Guard of honour.
Afterward, both sides introduced their delegations.
General Secretary and President To Lam and President Lee Jae Myung held important talks to discuss issues of mutual interest. The two leaders will witness the signing of cooperation documents and meet with the press.
This is President Lee Jae Myung's first visit to Vietnam. The visit marks him as the first foreign Head of State to visit Vietnam after the 16th National Assembly consolidated the state apparatus, including the election of General Secretary To Lam as President.
The visit occurs as Vietnam-Republic of Korea relations are at their best, following the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2022.
