President Alexander Stubb and his spouse welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his spouse and invited them to the place of honour.
The leaders and their spouses took a group photo. Subsequently, the national anthems of both countries were played by the military band. The two sides introduced their officials to each other. President Stubb and his spouse invited General Secretary To Lam and his spouse to sign the Guest book. The General Secretary signed the guest book and took a group photo with the heads of the delegations and their spouses.

General Secretary To Lam and President Alexander Stubb later held a private meeting, followed by talks and witnessed the signing of cooperation documents. Meanwhile, the spouses attended a tea party and visited the Oodi Library.
Vietnam and Finland established relations in January 1973. By 1974, the Finnish Embassy was set up in Hanoi, and Vietnam opened its Embassy in Helsinki in 2005.
This marks the first visit by Vietnam's highest-ranking leader to Finland, making it a politically and diplomatically significant event. It represents a new milestone in the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Finland.

The visit is expected to create new momentum for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, not only in traditional fields like education, science and technology, innovation, environment, and energy but also expanding into new areas aligned with global development trends such as digital transformation, food security, and green growth.

This is also an opportunity for Vietnam to affirm its image as a dynamic, innovative country, actively integrating into the international community, and a reliable, responsible partner with significant cooperation potential with Finland and Europe in the era of Vietnam's national rise.
