Voting opens for Top 10 Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Events of 2025
WVR - On the morning of December 23, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism assigned the Văn hóa Newspaper to lead and coordinate with relevant units to organize a press conference for voting on the top 10 cultural, sports, and tourism events of 2025.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Editor-in-Chief of Van hoa Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that 2025 marks significant achievements in the fields of Culture, Information, Sports, and Tourism in terms of institutional improvement, organizing large-scale events, and promoting sustainable development.

Numerous cultural, informational, sports, and tourism events were successfully organized, contributing to affirming the national position and spreading the image and values of Vietnam to the region and the world.
In addition to activities serving national celebrations that resonated with the public, the cultural industry, entertainment industry, and especially the performing arts sector have truly exploded in recent times.
To recognize and honour these outstanding achievements, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism assigned Văn hóa Newspaper to lead and coordinate with relevant units to organize the Voting for the Top 10 Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Events of 2025.
Van hoa Newspaper has established the Organizing Committee and the Task Force for Voting on the Top 10 Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Events of 2025, promptly implementing preparations and fully executing the steps according to the voting regulations issued.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee sent official letters to agencies and units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; Departments of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Departments of Tourism, Departments of Culture and Sports nationwide; the Vietnam Tourism Association, the Vietnam Olympic Committee, the Union of Vietnamese Literature and Arts Associations, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association, and the Vietnam Ao dai Culture Association, requesting nominations for outstanding cultural, informational, sports, tourism, and family events in 2025.
At the end of the nomination period, the Organizing Committee received 135 nominations from 50 units. Based on this, the Task Force met and voted to select 30 events to present to the Organizing Committee.
From these results, the Organizing Committee compiled and selected 15 events, reporting to the leadership of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to organize a press conference for voting on the Top 10 Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Events of 2025, with the participation of representatives from central and local news agencies.

The voting activity is organized in two forms: Direct voting on December 23, 2025, in Hanoi with the participation of representatives from central and local news agencies; and online voting on the electronic Văn hóa Newspaper (www.baovanhoa.vn), Van hoa Newspaper's social media platforms (https://www.facebook.com/baovanhoaa/), and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism's electronic portal (http://bvhttdl.gov.vn/).
The online voting period is from 8 AM on December 23, 2025, to 9 AM on December 25, 2025. The list of the Top 10 Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Events of 2025 will be announced by the Organizing Committee after compiling the results from both voting forms.
| List of 15 events for voting on the top 10: 1. Significant progress in institutional development and completion, a highlight of 2025, a bright spot of the entire term, laying a solid foundation for the Culture, Sports, and Tourism sector to confidently step into a new era. 2. The National Achievements Exhibition with the theme "80 Years of the Journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness" was organized on the largest scale ever, opening up new directions for organizing exhibitions and fairs in a spirit of innovation, affirming Vietnam's potential and position. 4. Continuing to affirm the prestige, experience, and stature of Vietnam's cultural heritage on the international stage, with four outstanding heritages in various forms being recognized by UNESCO for the first time this year. 5. The UNESCO General Assembly adopted the initiative "International Decade for Culture for Sustainable Development" proposed by Vietnam. 6. Vietnam shone at the World Expo 2025 in Japan; a global mark at the first-ever World Culture Festival. 7. The "Vietnam Inspiration" impression at the third National Press Awards Ceremony "For the Development of Vietnamese Culture" – 2025. 8. A series of cultural and artistic events commemorating major events of the year created a positive social effect; a year of explosive music festivals, with Vietnamese music leaving a brilliant mark both domestically and internationally, promoting the development of the cultural industry. 9. For the first time, the "Vietnam Happy Fest" was organized as a meaningful series of continuous activities. The event is a new cultural mark, affirming Vietnam as a destination of peace, happiness, and humanity in the eyes of international friends. 10. The third Asian Film Festival in Da Nang (DANAFF III) with many new features, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival, and the mark of the film Mưa đỏ demonstrate the outstanding contributions of the Film industry in the development of the cultural industry. 11. Vietnam successfully organized the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports and related meetings in 2025. 12. The Vietnamese men's football team convincingly won the ASEAN Cup championship. 13. The Vietnamese Sports Delegation made efforts to enter the Top 3 at the 33rd SEA Games. 14. Vietnam's tourism experienced the most impressive growth in the world according to the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), surpassing 20 million international visitors and over 130 million domestic visitors for the first time. 15. The Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 returned after five years and were organized for the first time on a five-year cycle. |
