The US military bombed at night and used long-range artillery shells, flamethrowers, ball bombs, toad mines, beard mines, petrol bombs, oil bombs... on the hill during the day.
In addition, they also used machine guns to shoot at drums containing toxic chemicals dropped from helicopters so that the poison could be released, following the wind, and crept into the nooks and crannies of the cave to consume our forces.

The relationship of forces was unequal, lacking in all aspects. Still, with strong determination, and mainly thanks to the loving care of the people in Tri Ton, our troops were determined to fight, taking advantage of the cliffs and caves, hand-made grenades, and rifles, causing many injuries to the American forces.

Wind of Peace
The war has receded. Tuc Dup, from a bare hill, without traces of life due to war bombs, has become a national historical relic, an ideal tourist destination of the Mekong Delta region. Here, there are still vestiges of a glorious time of our army and people, especially the agencies of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and Tri Ton District Party Committee, such as Hall C6, Tuyen Huan cave, Provincial Party Committee cave, logistics cave, military medicine cave, Dien May 6 cave, Vo Nam Kiem cave...
Tuc Dup still stands proudly as a historical witness of the heroic struggle of the army and people of An Giang, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, the unyielding and indomitable will of the Vietnamese people.
After 55 years, Tuc Dup has transformed into a red address, a place to educate patriotic and revolutionary traditions for many Vietnamese generations.
Since April of that year, this place has always been gentle and firm in overcoming the past of pain and loss. Standing below, looking up high, far away, each cliff is bulky, craggy, piled on each other, invincible to the blue sky.
Today and forever, thousands of deep wounds have been covered with happiness. Countless trees, tall grasses, growing close to cover the whole hill, swaying to welcome the sun. Innumerable flowers - multi-colored herbs love life, emitting a sweet fragrance, adorning the stone like an endless oil painting.
