In his opening address, Ambassador Tran Anh Vu recounted the significant socio-economic achievements of Viet Nam and the progress in the Viet Nam - Brunei Comprehensive Partnership across key areas such as politics, diplomacy, defense, security, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Ambassador highlighted the positive development of bilateral economic and trade relations, noting that by November 2024, the two-way trade turnover had surpassed 600 million USD, exceeding the 500 million USD target set for 2025. This achievement was attributed to the active contributions of businesses from both nations, including Vietnamese enterprises operating in Brunei.
H.E Vu highly commended the Vietnamese community in Brunei for fostering a spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance, and a deep connection to their homeland, particularly through meaningful activities that supported those affected by Typhoon Yagi.
