
Vietnamese Consul General in Chongqing presents Consular Commission to Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Consul General Bui Nguyen Long expressed his honour in assuming the position as Vietnam’s first Consul General in Chongqing.
In light of the positive development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries, Vietnam and China, leaders on both sides have attached great importance to, and reached broad consensus on, the establishment of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing. Consul General Bui Nguyen Long proposed that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to create favourable conditions for the opening and operation of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing in the near future.
Deputy Director General of the Department of Consular Affairs under the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wu Demin warmly congratulated Mr. Bui Nguyen Long on his appointment as Vietnam's Consul General in Chongqing. He emphasized that Chongqing, as China's largest municipality and a key hub on the China-Europe railway transport corridor, holds strategic significance. The establishment of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing, he noted, reflects the strategic vision of the Vietnamese Government.
Deputy Director General Wu Demin affirmed that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work closely with the Vietnamese side and provide the necessary support to ensure the Consulate General in Chongqing successfully fulfils its mandate.
On behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Director General Wu Demin presented Consul General Bui Nguyen Long with the Consular Certificate, officially designating the consular jurisdiction to include Chongqing Municipality and Sichuan Province. This marked the near completion of the necessary procedures for the Vietnamese Consulate General in Chongqing to begin operations.
