Vietnam values cooperation with Congo, including Francophone collaboration

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long expressed his pleasure at meeting Minister Crispin Mbadu Phanzu in Vietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1961-2026). He affirmed that Vietnam values its African friends, with Congo being a leading potential partner on the continent. The two countries have significant potential to enhance cooperation in agriculture, trade-investment, construction, and mineral exploitation and processing. He proposed that both sides increase exchanges of delegations at all levels, promote people-to-people exchanges, and consider opening representative offices in each other's capitals.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long highly appreciated Congo's strong commitment and contributions to multilateralism, especially at the United Nations and within the Francophone community. He shared that the priority in the upcoming period for Francophone cooperation is to promote the pillars of economic-trade cooperation, education-training, and people-to-people exchanges.
Minister Crispin Mbadu Phanzu affirmed that Congo values its friendly cooperative relationship with Vietnam and welcomes Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Congo. He noted that both countries have ample room for economic-trade cooperation, as both are large markets with over 100 million people each.

Mr. Crispin Mbadu Phanzu expressed his admiration for Vietnam's socio-economic achievements in recent times. He also highly appreciated Vietnam's role, position, and contributions within the Francophone community and on the international stage. In the context of the world and the Francophone space facing many challenges,
Mr. Crispin Mbadu Phanzu emphasized that Congo aims to build a united, inclusive Francophone community while strengthening cooperation in conflict prevention and in fields such as economy, trade, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, people-to-people exchanges, youth, and women. This contributes to building a Francophone community that better meets the needs of member countries.
