Over the past five years, the association has made significant efforts to organise practical and meaningful people-to-people diplomacy activities. According to a report presented at the congress, these efforts have contributed to promoting friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries' people, which align with the foreign policy and guidelines of the Vietnamese Party and the State.
The association also closely collaborated with the Uzbekistan–Vietnam Friendship Association and the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Cooperation with Foreign Countries of Uzbekistan to organise various people-to-people exchange activities. These initiatives helped strengthen mutual understanding and promote the cultures and people of both countries.
For the new term, delegates agreed on the need to innovate and enhance the effectiveness of the association’s operations to achieve tangible results in people-to-people diplomacy. This includes promoting Vietnam’s domestic and foreign policies, showcasing its achievements in the doi moi (renewal) cause, and sharing information about both nations' history, culture, and people. Such efforts aim to deepen bilateral solidarity and cooperation for peace, independence, democracy, and social progress.
Delegates also emphasised the importance of strengthening the association’s overall capacity as a foundation for fostering stronger Vietnam–Uzbekistan relations. They called for support from Uzbek friends for Vietnam’s national construction and development.
The congress elected a 48-member Executive Committee for the 2025–2030 term, with Ambassador Lai Ngoc Doan as president.
