| The Vietnam – Thailand – China Tet Festival is held annually in Udon Thani province, Thailand. |
The festival originates from the traditional Lunar New Year celebrations of the Vietnamese and Chinese communities, supported annually by the authorities and people of Udon Thani, Thailand.
Over more than 20 years, the festival's scale has expanded, reflecting the community's growth and the increasing demand for cultural exchange and cooperation in the region.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Natthapong Khamwongpin, Deputy Governor of Udon Thani, praised the community's solidarity and emphasised the traditional cultural values of Vietnam and China.
He highlighted the integration with local social characteristics, creating a rich and attractive Udon Thani cultural identity. This provides favourable conditions for local socio-economic development, particularly in cultural exchange and trade, tourism investment cooperation.
Congratulating the event, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen, Thailand, Dinh Hoang Linh highlighted significant milestones in the trilateral relations of Vietnam – Thailand – China.
The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Vietnam – China diplomatic relations and the 50th anniversary of Thailand – China diplomatic relations. In 2026, the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Thailand diplomatic relations will be celebrated (September 6, 1996 – August 6, 2026).
Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed the crucial role of the people in building the foundation of friendship and cooperation among the three nations: "I warmly commend the large Vietnamese, Chinese, and Thai communities who have gathered here to create this meaningful event. The glory and credit will forever belong to the people of our three countries, who have been and are united in building a strong, cohesive community to share a bright future, a prosperous, civilised, and happy society".
"I believe and hope that such a positive spirit will be expanded, becoming a driving force to promote people-to-people diplomacy activities, building a solid foundation contributing significantly to peace, stability, and common prosperity in the region for the practical benefit of the people of the countries," Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed confidence.
For the first time attending the festival, the Ho Chi Minh City art troupe performed many meaningful and attractive art pieces, including songs celebrating the Party, praising Uncle Ho, celebrating Spring, and the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam, Thailand, and international friends.
This not only reflects the responsibility and concern of the Party, State, and people in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City towards the overseas community but also underscores the importance of friendly cooperation with Thailand and other countries, as well as the goodwill towards the Chinese community, Thai people, and international friends.
