The Conference discussed development goals, policies and vision of India @2047 and Vietnam @2045. The conference also took up specific contemporary themes covering Net Zero carbon emission; digital transformation; fiscal and monetary policies supporting sustainable economic development and investment in green technologies; India’s approach to defence self-reliance; and also discussed progress and achievements in bilateral cooperation areas between Vietnam-India over the past 50 years and current endeavours in the bilateral ties.
The event witnessed participation of the Vietnamese and Indian scholars, academicians, representatives from ministries, media, experts and friends of India in Vietnam.

The inaugural session was addressed by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo Member, President of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Political Committee and Ambassador of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya.
Five established scholars and experts from well-known institutions and think-tanks in India (namely NITI Aayog, Indian Council of World Affairs, India Foundation, Indian Institution of Public Administration and Nalanda University) presented papers on developments in India in specific areas. Four speakers from Vietnam presented papers on Vietnam’s development goals and policies on economic progress, reducing carbon footprint, digital transformation, fiscal and monetary policies, green & circular economy. The speakers also highlighted areas for potential cooperation and integrating respective strengths to further advance India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the future.

The conference coincides with the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Centre for Indian Studies at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Hanoi.
Ambassador Sandeep Arya felicitated the Centre for Indian Studies for their contributions to enhancing mutual understanding between the academic communities of India and Vietnam and its contribution to the bilateral partnership. It was recalled that the Presidents of the two countries had inaugurated the Centre ten years ago and the achievements of the Centre were recognized in terms of valuable publications, exchange of scholars, creation of published resources about India, organization of conferences on national, bilateral and global development etc.
Certificate of Merit and Certificate of Recognition were presented by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Indian Embassy to the Centre for Indian Studies and their former and incumbent officer bearers recognizing their contribution to mark the 10th anniversary of establishment of Centre for Indian Studies (CIS).
