Vice Minister Takeo Mori warmly welcomed Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu to Japan, expressing his belief that the Ambassador would successfully fulfill his duties, making positive contributions to the relations between the two countries.
Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to developing its relations with Japan, one of its leading important partners, and promised to try hist best to promote the bilateral extensive strategic partnership.
He expressed his pleasure to be appointed as Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan at the time when the two countries are jubilantly celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
The two sides agreed to boost the implementation of bilateral cooperation plans in the time ahead, including the exchange of delegations, especially those at the high level, and step up collaboration in various fields, from politics and diplomacy to national defence and security, trade, investment, labour, education, culture, healthcare, science-technology, tourism, cooperation between localities and people-to-people exchange.
With nearly half a million people, a strong and developed Vietnamese community in Japan has now become the second largest community of foreigners in Japan making important contributions to the development of Japanese society, the Vietnamese Ambassador said.
He expressed his hope to closely cooperate with Japan’s competent agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to further support the Vietnamese community in the country.
