On May 11, the information was announced by Widyasari Listyowulan, Vice President for Public Policy and Government Affairs at Traveloka, at her working session with the Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Nguyen Trung Khanh.

Vietnam is one of the leading potential tourism markets of Traveloka, one of the "bright stars" on the world tourism map and a favourite destination in Southeast Asia for international tourists, said Widyasari Listyowulan.

She also stressed several plans to be implemented in Vietnam in the near future, such as organising a seminar to introduce and train on sustainable tourism development, cooperation with RMIT University in Ho Chi Minh City, on raising awareness of the importance of sustainable tourism development, and participation in tourism fairs.

Traveloka wishes to boost close cooperation with the VNAT on promoting Vietnam's tourism, especially activities on digital platforms.

Director General Nguyen Trung Khanh highly appreciated the cooperation activities between Vietnam tourism and Traveloka over the past years.

He said that in 2023, the VNAT will cooperate with several international tourism organisations, to host conferences and seminars in many localities across the country, such as coordinating with the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) on a training course on destination management, in Ninh Binh.

The VNAT will also work with the ASEAN – Japan Organisation to hold a conference on sustainable tourism development in Sapa. The Director General expressed his hope that Traveloka will accompany the administration to carry out activities to promote Vietnamese tourism.
