The Academy of Journalism and Communication receives quality accreditation for 12 training programs

On November 20, the Academy of Journalism and Communication held a ceremony to announce the decision and award quality accreditation certificates for 12 training programs in accordance with state regulations. This is one of the largest-scale evaluations the institution has conducted in recent years, marking a significant step in enhancing training quality and standardising according to national standards and modern educational trends.

In the context of Vietnam's higher education sector, which is vigorously promoting quality accreditation, the fact that many programs at the Academy meet standards simultaneously demonstrates a strong commitment to improving training programs. The Academy's units have spent years actively reviewing content, revising syllabi, standardising outcomes, and enhancing the application of technology in teaching and learning.

Twelve training programs of the Academy of Journalism and Communication received quality accreditation certificates.

This accreditation round was conducted by the Centre for Educational Quality Accreditation - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The evaluation process involved multiple steps, from preliminary surveys and official surveys to evidence assessment and multi-dimensional interviews with stakeholders. It is considered one of the largest-scale surveys, involving over 80 experts from various fields.

During the process, the expert team focused on evaluating core criteria groups such as: training objectives and outcomes for each field; program framework and course structure; quality of faculty, professional qualifications, and scientific research activities; facilities and teaching tools; student support services; internal quality assurance; and the extent to which programs meet practical and business needs. In addition to document analysis, the team conducted interviews with students, alums, faculty, department leaders, and representatives from businesses that hire Academy graduates. Information gathered from various channels provided an objective, comprehensive view of training quality. Results showed that all 12 programs fully met accreditation criteria, with some exceeding requirements, particularly in student support activities, program structure, and the relevance of teaching content.

The accreditation of training programs brings direct benefits to students. Quality accreditation certificates ensure that students are enrolled in programs with explicit content, transparent outcomes, rigorous evaluation processes, and consistently high-quality training. Additionally, accreditation enhances student competitiveness in the labour market. Employers often prioritise institutions with multiple accredited programs, as this reflects a commitment to training quality and student readiness for practical work. For society, accredited educational programs contribute to improving the quality of human resources in journalism, communication, socioeconomics, policy research, and other fields. These are crucial sectors in shaping information, public opinion, and supporting the development of the digital economy.
