With the theme "Unity in uncertainties", the workshop emphasizes the urgent need for a shared vision, coordinated action, and unity in the rapidly changing and increasingly unpredictable regional security environment.
The message from the theme is a strong call to transcend competitive thinking and work towards the common interest of respecting international law, ensuring freedom of navigation, resolving disputes peacefully, protecting the marine environment, and promoting sustainable development in the region.
The main contents of the workshop will focus on evaluating and analyzing the situation in the South China Sea and the region in recent times, the involvement and policy adjustments of relevant parties and major countries in the South China Sea, and discussions on the rapid development of emerging technologies and the trend of politicizing marine technology.
The workshop aims at specific measures to manage tensions, enhance maritime cooperation, and promote shared responsibility for a peaceful, cooperative, and developing South China Sea.
