The Vietnam-Singapore relationship has developed strongly, especially since being upgraded to a Strategic Partnership (September 2013) and a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (March 2025).
High-level visits between the two countries' leaders, including the visits of General Secretary and President To Lam to Singapore in 2025 and 2026, not only demonstrate the strong political bond and trust between the two Parties and nations but also lay a crucial political foundation, intertwining extensive, comprehensive, and strategic interests across various fields of cooperation between the two countries.
Singapore is currently a leading economic and trade partner and connectivity hub for Vietnam, with 28 Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) in 17 provinces and cities nationwide, symbolizing economic cooperation between the two countries.
The cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the People's Action Party of Singapore has positively developed in recent years. Vietnam is the first country in Southeast Asia with which Singapore has established a party-to-party dialogue mechanism.
During the visit, Politburo member Tran Cam Tu will co-chair the first Vietnam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue with the Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Action Party, Minister of Defense, and Coordinating Minister for Public Service of Singapore. He will also meet with Secretary-General of the People's Action Party, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and other Singaporean leaders, alongside participating in numerous significant activities.
