Spreading Vietnam-Thailand friendship from the lecture hall of Asian Scholars University

WVR - On October 19, Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen, Dinh Hoang Linh, delivered a talk to nearly 100 lecturers and students at the Asian Scholars University (Thailand) on the topic “Trends in Vietnam-Thailand Relations”.

Introducing the proud and glorious history of the nation through a documentary film showcasing Vietnam’s 80-year journey of construction and development at the event, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that Vietnam currently maintains diplomatic relations with all United Nations member countries, with Vietnam-Thailand relations continuously being strengthened and developed.

In May 2025, the two countries upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and are developing an Action Program for the 2026-2030 period based on three main pillars: (i) Partnership for Sustainable Peace; (ii) Partnership for Sustainable Development; and (iii) Partnership for a Sustainable Future.

Evaluating educational cooperation and student exchange activities as crucial components contributing to the development of the Vietnam-Thailand sustainable future partnership, Consul General Linh commended the young generation of both countries, including Thai students, for their meaningful contributions to building ever-stronger Vietnam-Thailand relations.

Congratulating the group of 65 students who recently visited Da Nang, interacted with teachers and students of Lang Co Secondary School, and explored local culture, Consul General Linh expressed hope for more educational cooperation and student exchange activities between the two countries in the near future, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2026).

Speaking at the event, Vice Rector of Asian Scholars University, Assoc. Prof. Artit Chutchaipolrutt, thanked the Consulate General and Vietnamese reoresebtative missions for effectively supporting the school in organizing exchange programs, thereby helping students better understand Vietnam and encouraging them to contribute to the friendship between the two countries.

Consul General Linh expressed strong support for the initiative to establish a Vietnam Studies Center at Asian Scholars University. Accordingly, the Consulate General of Vietnam is ready to collaborate in providing learning materials and supporting Vietnamese language teaching and research on Vietnam.

Notably, the Consulate General highly appreciates the school's efforts to create a display space about President Ho Chi Minh, a national liberation hero and world cultural great man, reflecting respect for Vietnam's history, culture, and noble spiritual values.

It can be said that the talk contributed to enhancing young people's understanding of the bilateral relations, promoting educational exchanges, and fostering sustainable friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand.
