Savannakhet Province always values and nurtures the special Vietnam-Laos relationship
WVR - On July 24, Mr Davone Xaysoulien, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Savannakhet Province, warmly received Consul General of Vietnam in Savannakhet Nguyen Van Dung, who paid a courtesy visit at the beginning of his term.

During the meeting, Consul General Nguyen Van Dung expressed his honour and pride in being entrusted by the Party, State, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam with the responsibility of working in Savannakhet – the beloved hometown of President Kaysone Phomvihane, and an important socio-economic center of the Lao PDR.
Consul General Nguyen Van Dung congratulated the comprehensive achievements of the Party, government, and people of Savannakhet Province in recent times; he highly appreciated the increasingly profound and practical cooperation between Savannakhet and various localities in Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the special solidarity between the two nations.
On this occasion, Consul General Nguyen Van Dung proposed that the leadership of Savannakhet Province continue to pay attention and create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in the area.
He also expressed the hope that the province would continue to address difficulties and obstacles for Vietnamese businesses investing there; implement preferential mechanisms, policies, and administrative procedures to attract more large-scale projects in the province's strengths such as high-tech agriculture, energy, agro-forestry processing, logistics, infrastructure, and tourism.
Welcoming Consul General Nguyen Van Dung to his new position, Chairman of the People's Committee of Savannakhet Province Davone Xaysoulien expressed strong agreement with the assessments and proposals of the Consul General. He affirmed that the Party, government, and people of Savannakhet Province always value and will do their utmost to preserve and nurture the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam in general, and between Savannakhet and Vietnamese localities in particular.
Regarding the proposals from the Vietnamese side, Deputy Secretary Davone Xaysoulien affirmed that Savannakhet Province will continue to direct relevant departments and agencies to create all favorable and safe conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work with peace of mind.
The province is also committed to focusing on removing barriers, reforming administrative procedures, and perfecting policies to maximally support Vietnamese businesses in effectively implementing investment projects, especially in key sectors such as high-tech agriculture, clean energy, and logistics.
He expressed confidence that during his term, Consul General Nguyen Van Dung will be a strong bridge promoting a wave of investment and substantive cooperation between the two sides to new heights.
At the end of the meeting, both sides wished for the special solidarity and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos to remain evergreen and everlasting; they also wished for the ties between Savannakhet Province and Vietnamese localities to become increasingly strong and effective.
