Remarkable gender equality enhancing Vietnam’s position in the Middle East
WVR - Recently, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended the Global Women's Summit 2023 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and visited UAE and Qatar, enhancing the position of Vietnam on gender equality, and at the same time strengthening good relations with the two important partners in the Middle East.

From May 4-8, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan led the Vietnamese delegation to attend the Global Summit of Women and hold a number of bilateral activities in UAE and pay an official visit to Qatar at the invitation of Deputy Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Thani.
Elevating the voice of "Vietnamese roses"
Wearing a soft pink “Ao dai” while speaking at the opening session of the Conference, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan made a clear affirmation of Vietnam's guidelines, policies, laws, efforts and outstanding achievements of Vietnam in ensuring gender equality and women empower.
In her speech at the most important international conference on women, the Vice President highlighted efforts and important achievements Vietnam has made in gender equality and women empowerment. Over the years, Vietnamese women have constantly increased their presence and made many contributions in handling global challenges. Notebly, "Vietnamese roses" wearing green berets join the United Nations peacekeeping force. Those policies of Vietnam have been creating favorable conditions for women in doing business, encouraging women to participate in the fields of science, technology and engineering to promote their strengths and master spirit.
Highlighting the theme "Women: Leading a New Climate of Change" of this year's Summit, the Vice President suggested efforts should be focused on creating favorable conditions for women to rise up and develop their capacities, and contribute to society. In particular, the Vice President stressed on the need to ensure a peaceful, stable and favorable international environment for cooperation and development, and to strengthen multi-layered cooperation among countries, organizations and businesses for women economic empowerment.

Through active participation in plenary session and panel discussions with practical contents, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the Vietnamese delegation have helped promote the image of confident Vietnamese women participating in solving global issues such as responding to climate change, implementing digital transformation and ensuring gender equality.
Strengthening relations with UAE and Qatar
Within the framework of the visit, at two stops in the UAE and Qatar, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan received a warm reception from the two countries' high-ranking leaders.
The visit is significant as it takes place when many activities are being carried out to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-UAE and Vietnam-Qatar diplomatic relations (1973-2023). This is one step in implementing the Project "Developing relations between Vietnam and countries in the Middle East-Africa region for the 2016-2025 period" and Project "Strengthening international cooperation to build and develop the Halal industry of Vietnam to 2030”, to promote the establishment of a cooperation mechanism between Vietnam and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Regarding Vietnam-UAE ties, while Abu Dhabi considers Vietnam an important partner in the Asia-Pacific region, wishing to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all fields, Vietnam has attached importance to relationship with UAE and expressed its desire to further strengthen the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with UAE, Vietnam's leading economic, trade and investment partner in the Middle East.
With regards to Vietnam-Qatar relationship, through exchanges and contacts, the Qatari Leader affirmed that Qatar considers Vietnam one of its priority partners in Southeast Asia and supports the promotion of friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation cooperation with Vietnam.

During the trip to the region, efforts to promote economic diplomacy were carried out while the Vice President had meetings with the UAE Minister of Economy, the President and CEO of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Minister of Industry and Trade of Qatar, Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), meetings with a number of agencies and economic groups of the two countries
Talking about many potentials for cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, agriculture, energy, tourism, etc, Vietnam and two Middle Eastern partners agreed to coordinate in organizing investment and trade promotion events, business forums, facilitate and support the business communities of the two sides to get market information, promote investment and business cooperation in accordance with the advantages of each country in the coming time.
Within the framework of the visit, the Vice President met with the Vietnamese community in the UAE and Qatar, showing the Party and State's care to the overseas Vietnamese community, encourage them to preserve cultural identity, and at the same time promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the local people.
With many meaningful activities and good outcomes in both multilateral and bilateral dimentions, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan's trip has shown the image of a Vietnam dynamic, proactive and actively integrating into the world, participating in efforts to deal with global issues, and at the same time constantly diversifying relations with partners, thus contributing to ensuring a peaceful and stable international and regional environment, realizing the development goals of the country.
