At the talks, the two leaders will discuss the bilateral relations and cooperation in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since Viet Nam and Austria officially established diplomatic relations in 1972, the bilateral relationship has witnessed fruitful development across fields, from politics, economy, trade and investment, to education-training, science-technology and culture.
Austria is one of the five largest trade partners of Viet Nam in the European Union (EU). Trade value between the two countries in 2019 reached about 3.6 billion USD. Since August 2020, when the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect, two-way trade has remarkably grown and is expected to achieve even more positive results when this agreement will be fully tapped in the near future.
