During the three days in South Africa, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh engaged in numerous significant multilateral and bilateral activities.
On the multilateral front, at the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the welcoming ceremony for high-level leaders and heads of delegations from various countries and international organizations, as well as the opening ceremony of the 2025 G20 Summit. This marked the first time a G20 Summit was held in Africa, closing South Africa's 2025 G20 presidency and signifying that all G20 member countries have now chaired this mechanism.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with other leaders, participated in three crucial discussions on topics such as “Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Development – Leaving No One Behind” and “G20 Contributions to a Resilient World”, as well as the third discussion of the G20 Summit on “A Fair and Just Future for All” and the closing session of the Summit.
In his speeches, the Prime Minister presented several proposals from Vietnam on various issues, affirming that Vietnam is ready to engage in active, equal, and mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries, the G20, and the international community for a peaceful, civilized, prosperous, sustainable, and inclusive world, “leaving no one behind”, ensuring that all people benefit from the achievements of development and deep, effective international integration.

The speeches by the Vietnamese Prime Minister were warmly received and highly appreciated by many countries.
Within the framework of the Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted numerous bilateral meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations attending the Summit. The Vietnamese Prime Minister met with Republic of Korea President Lee Jae Myung; Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez; Brazilian President Lula da Silva; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim; Algerian Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb; Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Rakan; World Bank President Ajay Banga; WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, UAE Khaled bin Mohamed Al Nahyan; Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney; Angolan President João Lourenço; Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud; Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed; Zimbabwean Vice President Constantino Chiwenga; WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof; French President Emmanuel Macron; OECD Head of Delegation; German Chancellor Friedrich Merz; Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store; Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly...

On the bilateral side, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh held talks with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. During the meeting, implementing commitments from the South African President's state visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Cyril Ramaphosa officially announced the elevation of Vietnam-South Africa relations to a Strategic Partnership, marking a historic milestone that deepens bilateral relations based on trust and effectiveness.
The Prime Minister also met with South African Vice President Paul Mashatile; Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC) Fikile Mbalula; Vice President of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry Neil Pollock; and welcomed the CEO of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) Leila Fourie, visited and inaugurated a trading session at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, and attended the Vietnam-South Africa Business Forum.
During the trip to South Africa, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse had a cordial meeting with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in South Africa.
