Prime Minister Le Minh Hung meets with President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sudary
WVR - On the afternoon of July 28, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung held a meeting with President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Khuon Sudary, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung warmly welcomed President of the National Assembly Khuon Sudary and the high-level delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly on their official visit to Vietnam. He affirmed that the visit holds significant importance, contributing to strengthening political trust and enhancing cooperative relations between the two Parties, States, and peoples, thereby driving the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship forward robustly.
The Prime Minister congratulated Cambodia on its recent developmental achievements and expressed confidence that under the leadership of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), the governance of the Government, and the oversight of the Senate and National Assembly, Cambodia will continue to develop peacefully, stably, and prosperously.
President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sudary expressed delight at her second official visit to Vietnam and was moved by the warm reception from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam. She conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Hun Manet and other senior Cambodian leaders to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and other senior leaders of Vietnam. The Cambodian National Assembly President congratulated Vietnam on its outstanding socio-economic achievements, viewing Vietnam's success as Cambodia's success and a valuable experience for Cambodia on its developmental path. She highly appreciated the meetings between the two Prime Ministers on the sidelines of multilateral conferences, and most recently, Prime Minister Hun Manet's visit to Vietnam, which have contributed to deepening bilateral relations.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to prioritizing the good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between the two countries. They expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in Vietnam-Cambodia relations in recent times. Political trust has been reinforced through high-level visits, interactions, and cooperative mechanisms between the two Parties and States. Notably, there was a state visit to Cambodia by General Secretary and President To Lam, a meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the CPP Central Committee, and a meeting between the leaders of the three Parties of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos (February 2026). Defense and security cooperation continues to be a vital pillar, while economic, trade, investment, tourism, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges have been expanding, bringing tangible benefits to the people.
Both sides discussed specific measures with clear timelines to effectively implement high-level commitments and agreements, contributing to making the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship more substantive, effective, and sustainable. This includes maintaining regular high-level contacts and exchanges, deepening defense and security cooperation, enhancing coordination in combating transnational crimes, adhering to the principle of not allowing any force to use one country's territory to oppose the other, advancing border demarcation and marker planting to build a peaceful, stable, friendly, cooperative, and developing border, and continuing to facilitate the stable residence and legitimate rights and interests of the Vietnamese community, thereby contributing positively to Cambodia's socio-economic development and the friendship between the two countries.

The two leaders also agreed to promote the connectivity of the two economies, especially in transportation, infrastructure, telecommunications, and finance-banking. They will coordinate to complete new cooperation mechanisms to closely link the two economies, promote the connection of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai and Bavet - Phnom Penh expressways, and expedite the amendment and signing of new agreements to facilitate trade and border management. They will also coordinate well-organized activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2027), viewing this as a historic milestone in bilateral relations and promoting the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two peoples to the younger generation.
In response to the proposal by the President of the Cambodian National Assembly to enhance cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and attracting investment from Vietnam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung shared additional results from the third session of the 14th Party Central Committee, which proposed many policies and resolutions to innovate the development model, with innovation as the foundation. He fully agreed that this is a potential area where both sides can complement each other and agreed to encourage Vietnamese enterprises to expand investment in Cambodia.
Discussing regional and international situations, both sides agreed to continue strengthening coordination and mutual support at ASEAN, the United Nations, and Mekong sub-regional cooperation mechanisms. They will maintain exchanges on strategic issues of mutual concern, coordinate to strengthen ASEAN's unity and central role, and promote the peaceful resolution of disputes based on international law, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.
On this occasion, through President of the National Assembly Khuon Sudary, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung conveyed warm greetings to Prime Minister Hun Manet and other senior leaders of Cambodia.
