National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man warmly welcomed National Assembly President Khuon Sudary and the high-level delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly on their official visit to Vietnam. The Chairman emphasized that the visit contributes to enhancing political trust, promoting close cooperation between the two National Assemblies, and deepening Vietnam-Cambodia relations. Additionally, the visit effectively implements the commitments and agreements reached between the high-level leaders of the two Parties and countries during the state visit to Cambodia by General Secretary and President To Lam, as well as during the meeting between the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) co-chaired by both sides, and the meeting between the leaders of the three Parties of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos held in February 2026.

Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sudary expressed her pleasure at visiting Vietnam officially for the second time. She sincerely thanked the Party, State, and National Assembly of Vietnam for their warm reception, reflecting the closeness and bond between the high-level leaders and peoples of the two countries. On this occasion, the Cambodian National Assembly President conveyed greetings from King Norodom Sihamoni, CPP Chairman Hun Sen, and other Cambodian leaders to the high-level leaders and people of Vietnam.

She highly appreciated the comprehensive development achievements of Vietnam under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary and President To Lam, expressing confidence that Vietnam will successfully achieve its two centenary goals, with an increasingly prominent role and position in the region and internationally. She also emphasized that Vietnam's successes and experiences in economic reform and streamlining the apparatus are valuable lessons for Cambodia's development process.

President Khuon Sudary congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the election of the 16th National Assembly and the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; especially congratulating Chairman Tran Thanh Man on being re-elected as National Assembly Chairman, reflecting the trust of the Vietnamese National Assembly and people.

In a friendly, cordial, and trustworthy atmosphere, both sides shared insights on the socio-economic development situation in each country; while effectively exchanging measures to promote cooperative relations between the two countries and National Assemblies in the coming time.

The two National Assembly leaders affirmed their commitment to prioritizing the Vietnam-Cambodia bilateral relationship, with parliamentary cooperation being a crucial channel. Both sides agreed to continue close coordination to effectively implement the commitments and agreements between the leaders of the two Parties and countries; enhance delegation exchanges and improve the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation mechanisms.

They also agreed to promote connectivity in transportation infrastructure, border gates, logistics, and supply chains; facilitate trade and investment, striving to soon achieve the bilateral trade target of 20 billion USD. Additionally, the two countries will expedite border demarcation and marker planting and coordinate to ensure a peaceful, stable, and developing border.

Both sides agreed to jointly organize activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations (1967-2027); intensify the promotion and education of the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two peoples, especially among the younger generation. They emphasized that this historical value should be preserved and promoted by the generations of people in both countries.

Appreciating the excellent cooperative relationship between the legislative bodies of the two countries on both bilateral and multilateral levels, the two National Assembly leaders agreed to continue maintaining exchange activities and sharing experiences in areas of mutual interest, particularly in building and perfecting institutions, legal systems, and supreme oversight activities.

Furthermore, they agreed to enhance cooperation between specialized Committees, Friendship Parliamentarian Groups, female parliamentarians, and young parliamentarians; coordinate in overseeing the implementation of cooperation agreements between the two Governments; and continue to support each other at multilateral parliamentary forums where both are members.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man requested that the Cambodian National Assembly President continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live stably, ensuring their legitimate rights and interests, thereby contributing positively to Cambodia's socio-economic development and the friendly relations between the two countries; as well as closely coordinating in the search, gathering, and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Cambodia.

Discussing regional and international issues, both sides agreed to continue close coordination to maintain peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region; continue to strengthen solidarity, promote ASEAN's central role, and enhance cooperation in Mekong sub-regional mechanisms.
