Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary arrives in Hanoi, begins official visit to Vietnam
WVR - On the evening of July 27, Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary arrived in Hanoi, commencing an official visit to Vietnam from July 27-29, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

At Noi Bai International Airport to welcome the delegation were Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Standing Vice Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security, and Foreign Affairs Vu Hai Ha. From the Cambodian side, Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Touch Sopharath was present.
Accompanying Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary on the official visit to Vietnam were Parliamentarian Cheang Vun, Chairman of the Committee on Economics, Finance, Banking, and Auditing; Parliamentarian Loy Sophat, Chairman of the Committee on Planning, Investment, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Development, Environment, Water Resources, and Meteorology; Parliamentarian Kep Chuk Tema, Chairman of the Committee on Interior, National Defense, Civil Service, and Border Affairs; Parliamentarian Lork Kheng, Chairman of the Committee on Health, Social Affairs, Veterans, Youth Vocational Training, Labor, and Women's Affairs; Parliamentarian Nin Saphon, Chairman of the Committee on Public Works, Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Science, Technology, Innovation, Mines, Energy, Trade, Land Management, Urbanization, and Construction, Vice Chairman of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group; Parliamentarian Sos Mousine, Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information; Cambodian Ambassador to Vietnam Touch Sopharath; Secretary General of the National Assembly Leng Peng Long; Chief of Staff to the National Assembly President, Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly Keo Piseth; Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly, Deputy Chief of Staff to the National Assembly President Khuon Davith; Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly, Deputy Chief of Staff to the National Assembly President Chheang Vannarith.
Dr. Chheang Vannarith, Deputy Secretary General and Head of the Advisory Group of the Cambodian National Assembly, stated that the visit of National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary leading the high-level delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia's National Assembly to Vietnam will open a new chapter in the bilateral relations between the two National Assemblies, aiming towards a people-centered approach through cooperative activities between the two sides, while continuing to strengthen and enhance the friendship between the peoples and the two countries, particularly within the legislative framework; as well as implementing the agreement between the two Parties at the high-level meeting in Phnom Penh last February.

Dr. Chheang Vannarith noted that this is the second visit of Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary to Vietnam, while National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also visited Cambodia in November 2024. He emphasised: “This visit to Vietnam by the President of the Kingdom of Cambodia's National Assembly opens a new chapter in the bilateral relations between the two National Assemblies, aiming towards a people-centered approach through cooperative activities between the two sides.”
In an interview on this occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia Nguyen Minh Vu shared the same view, stating that the visit is a high-level diplomatic activity of great significance in continuing to consolidate and deepen the "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability" between the two countries. The Ambassador affirmed that this is also an opportunity for both sides to continue reviewing cooperation results in various fields, especially parliamentary diplomacy, to guide the relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia to a new height, increasingly going into depth.
During this visit, Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary is expected to hold talks with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, meet with key Vietnamese leaders, and visit several Vietnamese corporations and medical facilities.
Additionally, specialized agencies of the two National Assemblies are expected to hold discussions to promote cooperation in the coming time.
