President Luong Cuong receives RoK National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik
WVR - On the afternoon of November 21, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong receives Republic of Korea National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik during his official visit to Vietnam, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, from November 20-22.

Warmly welcoming National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik and the high-level delegation of the Korean National Assembly on their official visit to Vietnam, President Luong Cuong emphasized the visit's significant importance. It injects new momentum into the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, fostering more substantial and effective development in the future. He affirmed that the two nations have indeed become each other's foremost important partners.
Speaker Woo Won Shik expressed his pleasure at revisiting Vietnam; conveyed warm regards from South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to President Luong Cuong; and sincerely thanked President Luong Cuong for attending the APEC Summit in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, contributing to the summit's overall success. He stated that Republic of Korea will actively share experiences and closely coordinate with Vietnam to successfully organize the APEC Summit 2027 in Vietnam.
Emphasizing the special, inseparable relationship between Republic of Korea and Vietnam, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik stated Republic of Korea's desire to promote and deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam. He expressed readiness to accompany Vietnam on its journey towards becoming a developed, high-income nation by 2045.
During the meeting, both leaders expressed joy over the significant achievements of both countries in various fields since establishing diplomatic relations in 1992. They agreed to continue strengthening political trust to provide a solid foundation for promoting other areas of cooperation. They also aimed to concretize the commitments and agreements reached during recent high-level visits between the two countries.
Praising the outcomes of the talks between National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Speaker Woo Won Shik, President Luong Cuong expressed a desire for the legislative bodies of both countries to closely coordinate in creating a legal framework to implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He supported the agreements and commitments of the two governments.
President Luong Cuong noted the vast potential and strengths for cooperation between the two countries. Both sides should continue to strengthen political trust, enhance high-level exchanges, and promote cooperation in defense, security, and combating transnational crime. They should also boost collaboration in education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges to foster deeper connections and understanding between the two peoples.
Speaker Woo Won Shik expressed strong agreement with President Luong Cuong's proposals. He hoped Vietnam would continue to support and resolve difficulties for Korean businesses, creating favourable conditions for the Korean business community to invest long-term in Vietnam. He also mentioned coordinating with Vietnam's legislative body to support the two Governments in enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas that benefit both nations.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong expressed gratitude and hoped that Republic of Korea would continue to support the Vietnamese community in Republic of Korea, helping them integrate, live, study, and work stably and long-term. He noted that Vietnam would also create favourable conditions for the Korean community in Vietnam.
The two leaders agreed to continue close cooperation and mutual support in regional and international forums of mutual interest, striving to promote lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
