President Luong Cuong arrives in Busan to attend APEC Economic Leaders' Week in RoK

President Luong Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived at Gimhae Military Airport in Busan, Republic of Korea.

At 2:50 PM local time on October 29, the special aircraft carrying President Luong Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation landed at Gimhae Military Airport in Busan. This marks the beginning of their participation in the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) High-Level Week and bilateral engagements in South Korea at the invitation of Republic of Korea President Lee Jae Myung.

Welcoming President Luong Cuong and the Vietnamese delegation at the airport were Choi Hyung-chan, Director of the Korean Diplomatic Academy, and Busan city leaders. Representing Vietnam were Vietnamese Ambassador to Republic of Korea Vu Ho, Consul General in Busan Doan Phuong Lan, along with staff from the Vietnamese Embassy and Consulate General in Republic of Korea.

Under the theme “Building a Sustainable Tomorrow” with three main priorities: Connectivity, Innovation, and Prosperity, APEC Economic Leaders'Week 2025 is expected to be a crucial forum for APEC leaders to maintain dialogue, strengthen trust, and enhance cooperation to find solutions for economic and trade challenges, promote innovation, and ensure sustainable and inclusive development in the region.

Vietnam has actively contributed to maintaining APEC cooperation momentum amidst numerous international economic cooperation challenges. Vietnam has enriched APEC's cooperative content, adapting it to international developments and aligning with new global trends, reaffirming APEC's indispensable role in promoting growth and economic integration in the Asia-Pacific and globally.

This conference is also an opportunity for Vietnam to showcase its dynamic economy, deeply integrated and always in step with the region towards the goal of “Connectivity - Innovation - Prosperity”. It also reaffirms Vietnam's role as an active, responsible member increasingly proactive in shaping regional cooperation structures, preparing to host APEC 2027.

On a bilateral level, amid flourishing Vietnam- Republic of Korea relations, President Luong Cuong's visit provides an opportunity to further solidify and deepen the strong political foundation, effectively implement high-level commitments and agreements reached recently, and enhance the substantial, effective cooperation between the two countries for their development during this pivotal period.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Republic of Korea Vu Ho and Consul General in Busan Doan Phuong Lan welcomed President Luong Cuong and the high-level Vietnamese delegation at the airport.

During the APEC Economic Leaders' Week, President Luong Cuong is expected to engage with leaders of various APEC economies and meet with leaders of leading global corporations and businesses, thereby deepening bilateral relations with partners and mobilizing resources to serve the country's socio-economic development goals.

Notably, President Luong Cuong will attend, engage in dialogue, and deliver a significant speech at the APEC Business Summit 2025, further encouraging international friends to continue supporting and standing by Vietnam in its new development phase.
