According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 31, 2025, State President Luong Cuong and his spouse will lead Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to pay state visits to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Angola from August 3 to 9, 2025. The visits will be made at the invitations of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his spouse, and Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço and his spouse.

Vietnam and Egypt established diplomatic relations on September 1, 1963, and have maintained a strong traditional friendship.

Egypt was the first North African country to recognise Vietnam as a full market economy in November 2013. It is also Vietnam’s largest trading partner in North Africa, with two-ay trade hitting 541.36 million USD in 2024. Egypt has 22 registered investment projects in Vietnam, with total capital of 2.87 million USD.

Meanwhile, Vietnam and Angola established diplomatic relations on November 12, 1975. Vietnam was the second country in the world to recognise Angola’s independence, just one day after its declaration of independence. Angola officially recognised Vietnam’s full market economy status in April 2008.

Bilateral trade has shown positive progress, with two-way trade reaching nearly 250 million USD in 2024. Vietnam mainly exports rice, textiles, coffee, confectionery, and grain-based products to Angola, while importing wood, wood products, and liquefied gas.

As of December 2024, Angola had four investment projects in Vietnam with total registered capital of 118.4 million USD, while Vietnam had four investment projects in Angola worth 2.98 million USD.

Angola hosts the largest Vietnamese community in Africa, with about 8,000 expatriates living and working there, mainly in the capital Luanda and other major cities.
