Positive Energy

Yagi Storm and floods in many Norhern Vietnam's localities caused severe damage worth 50,000 billion VND, affecting production, business activities and people's lives when lost assets and heavy debt burden. GDP growth for the year could be reduced by about 0.15%.
Đại dịch Covid vẫn chưa khắc phục xong, nay lại đến Yagi, nền kinh tế khó khăn vẫn còn chồng chất.

The COVID-19 pandemic has not yet been overcome, and Yagi Storm has caused many economic difficulties.

To rebuild the post-Yagi economy, 32 banks have registered credit packages to support businesses and people with up to 405,000 billion VND. All have shown that, with just one storm Yagi, the economy must spend a massive amount of money to restructure.

Kindness flies far beyond storms

Natural disasters and crises are not uncommon. Yagi's hurricane rage has passed, but the pain has not yet subsided. Tolerance, compassion, and kindness spread beyond borders in times of trouble. Our strength of solidarity will motivate, build trust in humanity, and demonstrate the profound benefits of community help.

The whole country is still looking to the localities directly stricken by Yagi, causing so much pain, and there are still countless tears of those who stayed behind for those who left. Time and compatriots' love will surely soothe and ease the pain of loss.

Sunshine and rain are the will of the sky?

Climate change is becoming more evident as the earth gradually warms, ice melts, sea levels rise, and floods come. Storms and rains never spare anyone. Possibly, Yagi today, and there will be many more Yagi's versions in the future?

Many years ago, who would have thought of flooding in Da Lat? Floods in Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Yen Bai or Lao Cai. Even Pearl Island Phu Quoc, in the middle of the ocean with waves crashing, is flooded every time it rains.

As writer Nguyen Ngoc said about land and water: "The life-and-death relationship of life is land and water tightly bound together by forests". For the past 50 years, with insatiable greed, despite all desperate cries for help, the life-and-death link has been cut off: Forests have been wholly destroyed. No more forests, natural forests, or mountains are flowing like water. Fossil resources (coal mines are exploited to supply many thermal power plants and for export; metal ores, gold, copper, brass, titanium, and rare earth are exploited indiscriminately). And even underground water sources are wasted to this extent.

Hills and mountains no longer have forests to protect. The geological layer has been hollowed out, causing a severe environmental imbalance. This year, 2024 - the year of the Dragon - the storms and floods are not mainly water floods but land floods. The rainy season has just begun, but landslides, riverbanks, and broken dikes have become fierce.

At this rate, there will come a day when the beloved and sacred place that we still call the Country, the Fatherland, the land on which are villages, fields, cities, people... everything, everything that we still firmly believe is eternal, will flow away into the East Sea?

An after-storm fleeting thought

To prevent the tragic and horrifying scenes of Nu Village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen, and Lao Cai from happening again, we need to look back at how humans treat Mother Nature.

With over 3,260 km of coastline and over 3,000 large and small islands, including the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, Vietnam has great potential and advantages in marine and island resources. In addition, the tropical monsoon climate with different solar radiation intensities in each region is also a massive advantage for our Country to exploit clean energy: solar power, offshore wind power, nearshore wind power, etc.)

Clean energy and peace.
Clean and peaceful energy.

In Vietnam, solar radiation is a priceless and endless clean resource. That treasure allows us to exploit it freely to develop clean electricity to ensure national energy security without inflating dirty electricity, which causes vast consequences for the environment. So, what policies are there to encourage internal resources and operate under the policy? It is all up to humans.
