Press Release on First Working Day of the 2nd Plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee
WVR - On the morning of March 23, the second plenum of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party convened in Hanoi.

In the morning, the Party Central Committee worked in the conference hall. General Secretary To Lam delivered the opening speech and chaired the meeting. Comrade Trần Thanh Mẫn, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly, represented the Politburo in conducting the meeting.
Following the opening session, theParty Central Committee held a private meeting to discuss personnel matters, including the introduction of candidates for leadership positions in state agencies for the 2026-2031 term and the election of additional members to the Party Central Inspection Commission.
Subsequently, the Party Central Committee worked in groups to discuss and provide input on the following topics:
(1) Completing the management model for national media agencies, the Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academy of Science and Technology to meet new requirements.
(2) The working regulations of the 14th Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.
(3) The work program of the 14th Party Central Committee.
In the afternoon, the Party Central Committee and delegates reconvened in the conference hall to continue discussions and provide input on the following topics:
(1) Completing the management model for national media agencies, the Academy of Social Sciences, and the Academy of Science and Technology to meet new requirements.
(2) The working regulations of the 14th Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat.
(3) The work program of the 14th Party Central Committee.
Afterward, the Party Central Committee and delegates worked in groups to discuss the following topics:
(1) Regulations on the implementation of the Party's Charter by the Central Committee.
(2) Regulations on inspection, supervision, and discipline within the Party by the Central Committee.
(3) The working regulations of the 14th Party Central Inspection Commission.
(4) Regulations on political and ideological work within the Party.
