Party and State leaders attend opening ceremony of 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hanoi
WVR - On the morning of May 12, the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) for the 2026 - 2031 term solemnly commenced at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, with the participation of over 1,300 delegates representing various social classes, ethnic groups, religions, armed forces, overseas Vietnamese, and VFF officials at all levels.

The 11th National Congress of the VFF was honoured by the presence of General Secretary, President To Lam, along with other Party and State leaders, former leaders; revolutionary veterans, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the Armed Forces, Labour Heroes; Ambassadors, Chargé d'affaires, and representatives from diplomatic missions of 16 countries in Vietnam; leaders, reporters, and editors from domestic and international press agencies.
The Congress respectfully invited General Secretary, President To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Standing Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet to join the Presidium of the Congress and take their honorary positions to direct the Congress.
Previously, in the working session on May 11, the Congress elected a Presidium consisting of 33 members; a Secretariat consisting of 3 members; approved the Program, Working Regulations; Report on the status of delegates attending the Congress; Review Report on the activities of the Committee, Presidium, and Standing Committee of the 10th Central Committee of the VFF from 2024 to 2026; Proposal for amendments and supplements to the VFF Charter; and organized 05 discussion centers to gather opinions on the draft Political Report and the amended and supplemented VFF Charter.
According to the opening session's program, delegates attended a cultural performance to welcome the Congress with the theme “National Unity – Glorious Homeland”; Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the VFF Bui Thi Minh Hoai delivered the opening speech; and a summary report of the Congress was presented.
Following the delegates' discussions, the Congress listened to an important directive speech by General Secretary, President To Lam. On behalf of the Congress, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the VFF Bui Thi Minh Hoai will take in the directive opinions of General Secretary, President To Lam.
