National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man warmly welcomed President Lee Jae Myung and his spouse, along with the high-level delegation of the Republic of Korea government, on their state visit to Vietnam. He emphasized that the visit, taking place right after the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam completed its leadership structure, demonstrates the special regard of the President and the Republic of Korea government for the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.

Praising the significance of the state visit to Vietnam by Republic of Korea President Lee Jae Myung and his spouse at the invitation of General Secretary and President To Lam, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed the signing of numerous important cooperation documents during the visit. He affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly supports and will oversee and promote the implementation of these agreements to enhance the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.

President Lee Jae Myung expressed his impression with Vietnam's robust development since his last visit 13 years ago. He highly appreciated the role of the Vietnamese National Assembly and Chairman Tran Thanh Man in leading Vietnam to become one of the fastest-growing economies in the region. The economic cooperation between the two countries significantly contributes to the economic development of each nation. He expressed the Republic of Korea's desire to accompany Vietnam in effectively implementing two strategic goals by 2030: becoming a developing country with a modern industrial base and high middle income, and realizing the vision of becoming a developed, high-income country by 2045.

President Lee Jae Myung stated that the historical, cultural, and spiritual similarities between the two countries will serve as a solid foundation for the Republic of Korea and Vietnam to further strengthen their bilateral relations. On this occasion, President Lee Jae Myung welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to soon officially visit the Republic of Korea.

Appreciating the positive development achievements in the bilateral relations since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1992, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man noted that the two countries have many potentials and complementary advantages in key areas for the coming period. He called for deeper cooperation in semiconductor technology and strategic supply chains, artificial intelligence (AI), renewable and clean energy, digital transformation, biotechnology, and smart infrastructure. He affirmed that Vietnam is always ready to create a transparent and favorable legal environment for foreign investors, including Republic of Korea businesses, to invest and operate stably and long-term in Vietnam, complying with Vietnamese law.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man noted that cultural and sports cooperation is increasingly becoming an important bridge connecting the two nations. He welcomed the promotion of cooperation in e-sports and sports that contribute to building community health and solidarity.

President Lee Jae Myung expressed strong agreement with the proposals of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. He thanked and hoped that the Vietnamese National Assembly would continue to support and facilitate Republic of Korea businesses to invest stably and long-term in Vietnam. He affirmed that the Republic of Korea will pursue comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam in areas ranging from infrastructure, transportation, and energy to future industries, including science and technology, intellectual property, artificial intelligence (AI), and cultural industries.

Regarding parliamentary cooperation, both sides highly valued the close relationship between the two countries' National Assemblies, contributing positively to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. They agreed to further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two National Assemblies through maintaining high-level delegation exchanges and specialized committees, enhancing the activities of the two countries' parliamentary friendship groups, and promoting the monitoring and implementation of commitments and cooperation agreements between the two countries. This will play an important role in consolidating the political foundation, promoting extensive and sustainable economic cooperation, enriching cultural and sports exchanges, and effectively exploiting potential cooperation in economic-investment-technology fields, bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries.

President Lee Jae Myung highly appreciated the role and significant contributions of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea. He agreed with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man's proposal to continue to pay attention to and protect the legitimate rights of the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea. He stated that measures to simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens would be considered. Additionally, he requested that the Vietnamese National Assembly continue to support and create favorable conditions for the Republic of Korea community in Vietnam, as well as Republic of Korea businesses investing and operating in Vietnam.
