Joining General Secretary To Lam were General Phan Van Giang, Politburo Member, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Politburo Member, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Party Central Committee Secretary, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs; Bui Thanh Son, Party Central Committee Member, Deputy Prime Minister; Pham Gia Tuc, Party Central Committee Member, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office, along with representatives from the Party Central Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, and Ministry of Public Security.

During the meeting, based on General Secretary To Lam’s suggestions, leaders from these agencies discussed and deeply evaluated the new and noteworthy developments in the global and regional situations, forecasting their impacts on Vietnam and outlining foreign affairs strategies to serve the country's key tasks in the coming period.

On behalf of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Party Central Committee Secretary and Acting Minister Le Hoai Trung affirmed that although peace, cooperation, and development remain major trends, the global situation is evolving rapidly, complexly, and unpredictably, impacting the security and development environment of the country in multiple dimensions.

In this context, he emphasized that the crucial task of foreign affairs in the coming time is to contribute to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and major policies set by the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, paving the way for a new era of strong and prosperous national development.

General Phan Van Giang, Politburo Member, Minister of National Defense, shared the assessments of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He affirmed that despite the complex developments in the world and the region recently, Vietnam has strived to enhance political trust with partners, ensure national defense and security, and deepen foreign relations, including defense diplomacy.

Agreeing with the views of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of National Defense leaders, General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo Member, Minister of Public Security, also emphasized the need to deepen defense diplomacy and People's Public Security diplomacy, and to promote international integration in defense and security as clearly stated in Resolution 59 of the Politburo.

From the Government's perspective, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son stressed the importance of urging and fulfilling commitments with partners in the current context. He also suggested continuing to promote multilateral diplomacy, especially in strategic forums and mechanisms for the country such as ASEAN and Mekong sub-regional cooperation. Additionally, he emphasized the need to mobilize sufficient resources for implementing foreign affairs and international integration, and building a team of experts...

Concluding the meeting, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the heartfelt and profound contributions from the leaders of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Military Commission, and the Central Public Security Party Committee.

Reaffirming the Party's directive on promoting foreign affairs and international integration as a "key and regular" task, the General Secretary emphasized the importance of coordinating the three pillars of Defense – Security – Foreign Affairs.

General Secretary To Lam urged the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to continue closely coordinating with other departments, ministries, sectors, and localities in proactively, comprehensively, and effectively implementing foreign affairs and international integration tasks. He particularly advised the Party Committee to stay well-informed of the situation, further enhance the quality, effectiveness, and timeliness of research and advisory work for the Party and State leaders on major strategic decisions and policies of the country.

He called on the entire foreign affairs sector, including diplomacy, to continue to play a pioneering role in creating a peaceful and stable environment, maximizing external resources and favourable conditions for national development, especially to realize the development goals for 2030 and 2045. The Party General Secretary also expressed confidence that Vietnamese diplomacy will continue to foster peace, expand development space, elevate the nation's position, and contribute positively to achieving the two centennial goals set by the Party, leading Vietnam towards strong, prosperous, enduring, and sustainable development.

This was the second meeting of General Secretary To Lam with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within a monthand the third in a year, demonstrating the Party, State, Politburo, and Secretariat's, particularly the Party General Secretary's, keen interest and emphasis on foreign affairs, consistently providing direct and close leadership and direction.
