Launch of the 'Green Campaign' at A1 Hill, Dien Bien Phu

On August 15, at the A1 Hill site, the Dien Bien Phu Museum, in collaboration with officers and soldiers of Regiment 82, launched the first “Green Campaign” of 2026.
Immediately following the launch ceremony, museum staff and soldiers from Regiment 82 engaged in activities such as cleaning, mowing, tending to greenery, flower gardens, and cleaning areas within the site.
A1 Hill is one of the significant historical locations of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield. Maintaining the landscape not only contributes to creating a neat and clean appearance for the site but also helps form a solemn space for residents and visitors to explore history.
According to the Dien Bien Phu Museum, the “Green Campaign” aims to enhance coordination among forces in protecting and maintaining the landscape, while also raising awareness and responsibility among officers, soldiers, and the community in preserving and promoting the value of the Special National Monument of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield.
The highlight of the program is maintaining practical, regular activities instead of organizing them sporadically. From mowing and cleaning the grounds to tending to greenery and flower gardens, each task contributes to preserving the landscape and enhancing the quality of the site's environment.

According to the plan, after its initiation at A1 Hill, the “Green Campaign” will be maintained on Saturdays and gradually expanded to other historical sites in the area.
The activity is expected to become a regular practice, attracting the participation of various societal forces, thereby contributing to protecting the landscape, preserving historical traces, and promoting the value of the Dien Bien Phu Battlefield monument system.
Through specific actions, the “Green Campaign” not only helps maintain a green, clean, and beautiful monument space but also spreads the message of today's generation's responsibility in respecting, preserving, and passing on the historical values of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
