On August 27, in the jubilant atmosphere of Vietnam celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, Lao Ambassador to China Somphone Sichaleune led a delegation from the Lao Embassy in Beijing to visit and congratulate Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh and the entire staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.
Congratulating the significant achievements that the Party, State, and People of Vietnam have accomplished over 80 years of struggle for independence, nation-building, and development, Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune emphasized the great significance of the special, steadfast friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, fostered by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong, and nurtured through generations.

Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune affirmed that the two Parties, States, and peoples have always stood by each other, offering full support and assistance both during the past struggle for national liberation and in the current phase of nation-building and development; this is a rarity in international relations.
Expressing deep appreciation for Vietnam’s substantial assistance, which has greatly contributed to Laos’ socio-economic development, Ambassador Somphone Sichaleune affirmed that Vietnam’s model of nation-building and development in the new era serves as a valuable reference for Laos.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh shared that the August Revolution and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam marked a historic milestone; the upcoming 80th anniversary is an opportunity to review and evaluate the achievements of the struggle for national liberation and Vietnam's socio-economic development.
Expressing gratitude and affirming the profound solidarity, support, and assistance of the Lao people, which greatly contributed to the success of the August Revolution, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh underscored that Vietnam and Laos have stood, are standing, and will always stand together in solidarity. He emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries will continue to be preserved and fostered by future generations.
Highly appreciating the vigorous and substantive development of bilateral relations in all fields, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh stressed that Laos’ stable development is of vital importance to Vietnam and affirmed that Vietnam will continue to stand side by side with Laos in its socio-economic development journey.

Both sides agreed to enhance coordination and exchanges between the two Embassies in China to contribute to the overall development of Vietnam-Laos relations.
