Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long expressed sincere gratitude to the Party, State, and people of Cuba for their most cherished sentiments in revisiting Vietnam's glorious history.
Ambassador Le Quang Long emphasized that the victory of the August Revolution and the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam marked a monumental turning point, not only ushering in a new era of national independence and socialism for Vietnam but also strongly inspiring the national liberation movement worldwide, particularly in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
"Over the 80-year journey filled with challenges yet immense pride, we have always valued and appreciated the invaluable support of international friends, especially Cuba - a friend, comrade, and brother who stood by Vietnam during its most difficult times," affirmed Ambassador Le Quang Long.

On behalf of the Cuban Party and State leadership, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, delivered an emotional speech, recalling the glorious chapters of the fighting solidarity between the two nations.
Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla reminisced about the immortal image of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro standing on Hill 241, just a few hundred meters from the front line, bravely holding high the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, along with the historic declaration: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood".
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez highly appreciated Vietnam's steadfast and loyal support in Cuba's struggle against the U.S. embargo policy and the inclusion of Cuba on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. He also expressed deep gratitude for Vietnam's significant support in agriculture, contributing to Cuba's food security, as well as the heartfelt donation campaign initiated by the Vietnam Red Cross, which exceeded all expectations.
"This noble and touching act once again affirms the truth: for Vietnam, solidarity with Cuba is a mandate of the heart," emphasized the Cuban Foreign Minister.

This event serves as an important prelude to the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2/1960- December 2/2025) and the 100th birth anniversary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz (August 13/2026), which will be organized by the two countries in the near future.
The overarching message from the ceremony is a strong affirmation that, despite global changes, the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, diligently nurtured by generations of leaders and people of both nations, will continue to be strengthened and developed, forever shining as a bright example of pure, loyal, and steadfast international solidarity.
