On March 28, the Pho Museum welcomed Mdm. Margo Aluwihare, President of Consular Club and Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in HCMC and members of the Ho Chi Minh City Consular Club for a special tour, cultural exchange, and unique culinary experience.
The meeting was not only an opportunity to learn about the origins and development of Vietnam's national dish, recognised and loved by international friends, but also a chance for cultural exchange, seeking harmony in culinary culture among nations.

In a heritage-rich setting, the distinguished guests participated in an open cultural exchange. Here, the similarities between Vietnamese culinary culture and that of other countries became a lively topic of discussion.
Ms. Margo and the delegation noted that while each country has its unique flavors, the greatest commonality is “connection” – where the dining table is not just for enjoying food, but also for preserving family values and long-standing traditions.

The highlight of the visit was a journey through time via the museum's exhibits. The guests expressed surprise and delight as they heard the full story of pho's more than a century-long evolution, from humble street vendors to becoming a global culinary icon.
“We often enjoy pho as a delicious dish, but today we truly understand that within a bowl of pho lies a long history and the soul of the Vietnamese people,” shared a delegation member.

Beyond the tour, guests were directly involved in activities such as learning about spices and making incense from the ingredients that create the famous pho broth. The highlight of the visit was the culinary space at the Pho Museum. Enthusiasm was evident on the guests' faces as they witnessed and personally prepared steaming bowls of pho, rich with the essence of time.
The reception concluded in a warm atmosphere, leaving a lasting impression of the Pho Museum as not just a place to preserve artefacts, but a destination that spreads cultural love to international friends.
