Hanoi tourism sector gears up for National Day holiday

Various tourism programs have been held in the capital city of Hanoi to serve tourists during the National Day holiday which lasts from August 31 to September 3.

According to the Director of the Municipal Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang, the sector has paid due attention to improving service quality and building new offerings to meet the perse tastes of visitors.

The city’s string of tourism activities began with the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024 which took place from August 23 to 25 at the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian zone in Hai Ba Trung district. It aimed at promoting the capital’s image as a safe, friendly, quality, and attractive tourist destination.

An Ao dai (long dress) connecting tourism and Hanoi’s heritage show will be organized on September 1 at the Thang Long – Hanoi Heritage Conservation Centre, and on several streets in Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, and Long Bien districts.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian street area around Hoan Kiem Lake, and pedestrian streets in the Old Quarter will host an array of vibrant cultural and art activities from August 30 to September 3.

A program called Vui Tet Doc Lap (Happy Independence Day), featuring the rich culture of the ethnic groups, will be held at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the outskirt district of Son Tay during the four-day holiday.

Other attractive destinations for the upcoming holiday include the Temple of Literature, Tuan Chau Marine Park, Lotte Mall Tay Ho, and Vinhomes Ocean Park.

The tourism department has ordered tourist sites, and service providers to ensure fire prevention and control work, and food safety and hygiene, while promoting the values of the city for peace, and innovation.
