The Ha Noi People’s Committee ordered all bars, karaoke parlors, and nightclubs to close from February 1 in an effort to curb local transmissions until further notice.
“Restaurants and catering services are required to put anti-Covid-19 measures in place, including wearing face masks, washing hand with sanitizers, and keeping a safe distance,” stated a conclusion of the Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung at yesterday’s meeting of the Ha Noi’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
In the meeting, Mr. Dung, who also heads the Steering Committee, noted from January 28-30, Viet Nam recorded 190 new COVID-19 cases, of which 182 were locally-transmitted with four in Ha Noi.
“All locally-transmitted cases in Ha Noi had been in different locations and pose high risks to the community,” said Mr. Dung, saying there could be more new local infection cases in Ha Noi in the next few days.
Mr. Dung urged local agencies to strictly comply with anti-COVID-19 measures and prepare different scenarios on the assumption of a large-scale COVID-19 outbreak.
“Local authorities are tasked with tracing people returning from COVID-19 affected zones, especially Hai Duong and Quang Ninh, for testing and quarantining,” stated Mr. Dung.
Mr. Dung requested COVID-19 testing for all people having returned from Chi Linh city, Hai Duong province from January 1, and Van Don International Airport of Quang Ninh province from January 5.
In another move, Ha Noi is planning to carry out a similar test for all staff working at Noi Bai International Airport who had been in contact with a COVID-19 case from Van Don Airport.
