The General Secretary, President affirmed that the large presence of delegates demonstrates a shared interest in the future of ASEAN and a desire to exchange, share ideas, and contribute to shaping the region's development direction in the new phase.
Praising the heartfelt and responsible opinions and proposals shared at the Forum, the General Secretary, President emphasized that ASEAN is in its first year of implementing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, with many expectations and new development opportunities. Amid rapidly evolving, complex, and unpredictable global and regional situations, ASEAN's priority is to maintain a peaceful and stable environment for development, enhance competitiveness, strengthen economic resilience, and ensure the well-being of its people.
The General Secretary, President stressed that the achievements over nearly six decades have affirmed ASEAN's sustainable values of unity, consensus, centrality, and inclusive approach. Based on this, ASEAN needs to continue innovating its mindset and operational methods, enhancing adaptability, and improving the effectiveness of implementing common commitments to better meet development demands in the new phase. According to the General Secretary, President, ASEAN's success must first be measured by the tangible benefits it brings to the people and businesses in the region.
Sharing about the ASEAN Future Forum initiative, the General Secretary, President affirmed that peace, stability, and sustainable development can only be nurtured on the basis of unity, dialogue, trust-building, and mutually beneficial cooperation. This is also the spirit and motivation for Vietnam to initiate the ASEAN Future Forum, with the desire to create an additional open, substantive, and future-oriented dialogue space; contributing to complementing ASEAN's existing cooperation processes, while promoting innovative thinking and joint action for the region's development.

Representatives of the delegations attending AFF 2026 highly appreciated Vietnam's initiative to organize the ASEAN Future Forum; stating that AFF has become a prestigious, open, inclusive, and constructive forum, contributing positively to the process of formulating ASEAN's long-term development orientations.
The delegates also expressed high regard for Vietnam's foreign policy as demonstrated through the consistent statements of the General Secretary, President at the Shangri-la Dialogue, at Tsinghua University, and at the ASEAN Secretariat (in 2025), evidencing Vietnam's proactive and positive contributions to regional peace, dialogue, and cooperation.
The delegates expressed hope that AFF will continue to play its role as a bridge connecting leaders, policymakers, scholars, businesses, youth, and stakeholders, promoting frank and substantive exchanges and dialogues on the region's strategic issues.
General Secretary, President To Lam and the delegates expressed confidence that ASEAN will continue to uphold its central role, strengthen internal solidarity, enhance adaptability to new challenges, and effectively implement the ASEAN Community Vision 2045; thereby continuing to affirm its position as a dynamic, resilient community and a reliable partner for peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
