This event was part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the Independence Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Vietnam People’s Public Security, and the 20th anniversary of the Independence Day for Safeguarding Homeland Security.
Speaking at the festival, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police, noted that exactly 80 years ago, along with the Vietnam People’s Public Security force, the Hanoi Police were founded.

At that time, the officers of the Bac Bo Security Service had the honour of protecting President Ho Chi Minh, safeguarding the fledgling revolutionary government, and protecting the people of the capital.
From those glorious tasks in the early days of the revolution, throughout its history, enduring many hardships and sacrifices, the Hanoi Police have always remained absolutely loyal to the Party and the Fatherland, standing side by side with the people, becoming the core force in protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety. They have contributed to maintaining a peaceful and stable environment, effectively serving the socio-economic development of the capital and the whole country.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung shared: “Today, in the capital city of Hanoi, the heart of the nation, we take pride in looking back at the 80-year journey of building, fighting, and growing of the Hanoi Police, marked by brilliant achievements. Our unit has been honored three times with the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, awarded the Gold Star Order, the Ho Chi Minh Order, and many other prestigious awards by the Party and the State”.
Affirming that the country is entering a new era of national advancement, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung stated that the Hanoi Police are determined to lead in restructuring their organization and apparatus towards being lean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern, meeting the requirements of the new situation.
At the same time, they will continue to implement comprehensive measures to firmly safeguard national security and public order in the capital; proactively prevent and effectively combat all types of crime and legal violations; enhance the application of science, technology, and comprehensive digital transformation; and improve the effectiveness of state management in national security and social order in all fields.
They will also ensure a peaceful life for the people of the capital, living up to their role as the “steel shield” firmly protecting the Party, the State, and the people.

The “For a Peaceful Capital” festival not only promoted the friendly and approachable image of the capital’s police force but also demonstrated their combined strength, affirming their discipline, elite quality, and modernity in the new era — worthy of their role as the “steel shield” and “sharp sword” protecting the Fatherland, the Party, the State, and the peaceful life of the people — entrusted by the Party Committee, government, and the thousand-year-old capital’s citizens.
Also at the festival was the art program “Aspiration to Contribute, for a Peaceful Capital”, featuring performances by many well-known artists, such as Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, singers Ho Ngoc Ha, Toc Tien, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, artists from the Vietnam National Music, Song, and Dance Theater, and Hanoi Police officers and soldiers. The show brought the audience an impressive, emotional, and memorable experience, evoking national pride and love for the Fatherland.
