Flood stricken OVs in Cambodia receive support

The delegation, led by Ambassador Vu Quang Minh, visited villages of OVs along the Mekong River in Peanichekam hamlet, Chbar Mon city, about 50km south of Phnom Penh capital, which was severely affected by recent flooding.

The relief aid was presented to 145 families who were hardest hit by the floods, with funding coming from the staff of the Embassy, the Consulate General and Vietnamese firms in Cambodia.

Speaking with OVs and poor Cambodians, Ambassador Minh said the Party, State and people of Vietnam are willing to assist flood-hit victims, helping them stabilise their lives.

There are more than 100 households of poor OVs and Cambodian residents in Peanichekam hamlet in Kampong Speu province. The recent flooding is among the worst to hit the area, causing vast property losses to local people.
