Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet expressed her deep emotion, remembrance, and profound gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh — the great leader of the Vietnamese people — who devoted his entire life to the cause of national liberation and to independence, freedom, and happiness for the Vietnamese nation.
The Ambassador emphasized that this year’s celebration holds special significance, as the entire country is filled with pride and excitement in commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. At the same time, it serves as an occasion to promote and honour the cherished values of peace, progress, friendship, and solidarity, especially in the context of the volatile international and regional situation.
Reflecting on the key milestones of President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career, the Ambassador highlighted that he was not only a great architect of peace for the nation, but also a steadfast revolutionary and an outstanding cultural figure.
Speaking about the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh laid the foundation for the relationship between the two countries and marked important historical milestones. His official visit to the People’s Republic of Bulgaria in 1957 left a lasting impression in the hearts of both Vietnamese and Bulgarian people, remembered for the warm welcome, sincere sentiments, and close friendship shown by the Bulgarian people.
Notably, as 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bulgaria, the Embassy has coordinated with local authorities and the Vietnamese community in Bulgaria to organize a series of meaningful activities to honour the legacy and contributions of President Ho Chi Minh in fostering this enduring friendship.
