Fighting bad and poisonous content before the 13th Party Congress: Do not become a ‘puppet’

As the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam is approaching, bad and poisonous contents have increasingly appeared across various social networks. Hostile forces have continued to spread incorrect, misleading information to create mistrust, lower reputations and distort Viet Nam’s situation.

Notably, before the 13th National Congress of the Party, opportunists and hostile forces have regularly spread misinformation about the personnel preparation of the Party. For example, at the 14th Plenary Session, the Central Committee of the Party had just finished voting to introduce candidates for the Politburo and Secretariat. Nevertheless, right when the Session convened, some websites with foreign addresses had started spouting about the “four pillars” of the 13th National Congress of the Party, that the 14th Plenary Session had made its decision on the ones to become General Secretary or President…

The hostile forces have taken advantage of our personnel preparation to enhance their sabotage stratagem via many cunning artifices. They have attached special importance to using mass media and social networks to lower the prestige of our leaders, undermine internal unity, cause doubts amongst cadres and party members, and shake the people’s faith in our Party and State.

The “personnel arrangement” on social networks, made by groups of people known to be “firebrands” to the Party, the nation and the people were so illogical that even those tasked to advise on the personnel arrangement for the Politburo, Secretariat, Central Committee of the Party had not heard of.

General Secretary, President Nguyen Phu Trong once stated: The personnel preparation for the 13th National Congress of the Party was not only a task of the Personnel Sub-committee, Politburo, Secretariat and the Central Committee of the Party, but also an important task of entire political system, committees, party organizations, agencies, departments and locals. Related agencies, organizations, foremost the Politburo and the Central Committee, must work cautiously and identify this to be a uniquely important mission, “critical” task among the “critical” ones that is closely linked to the survival of the Party, the fate of the regime, development and stability of the nation.

In reality, the arrangement of personnel, Party officials have been carefully implemented on a closely monitored, delicately prepared procedure, under the principle that Party building is the progressive, driving force that can represent the collective will through democratic centralism and the rule of majority.

Evidently, ideas on arranging Party officials, lists of personnel arragements created by those hostile forces were tactics of spreading misinformation, “peaceful evolution” the Party’s personnel arrangements, taking advantages of others’ curiosities, cause disruptions and fluctuating political trust.

These forces seek to create disunity, lower the reputation of senior Party leaders, as well as to cause disruptions, social instability that can lead to the decreasing of trust to the Party, specifically prior to the commencement of the upcoming National Party Congress of.

The 13th National Congress of the Party is expected for convene from January 25th, 2021 to February 2nd, 2021 in Hanoi. As the 13th National Congress of the Party is approaching, officials, party members and people must raise awareness in front of distorted, sabotaging allegations from hostile, reactionary forces on social networks. In addition, we must be conscious and understand our responsibilities to ourselves and the community before sharing unverified information about the 13th National Congress of the Party. Do not let yourselves become the “puppet” to be manipulated by the bad, opposing forces.
