Bich Dam Island is part of the Hon Tre archipelago in Khanh Hoa. This place is untouched and peaceful: No high-rise buildings, no luxurious hotels, no noisy car horns, and the pace of life is slow. The area doesn't even have a power grid, so homes lack air conditioning.

The journey to the island takes about 30 minutes by speedboat and over an hour by local ferry. As soon as the speedboat docks, visitors are greeted by clear blue waters, simple fishing village houses, and winding paths shaded by trees.

Visitors wishing to stay overnight typically sleep in local homes, with costs starting at 100,000 VND per person. At night, during low tide, visitors can explore the beach for shells, fish, and shrimp or go squid fishing.

This fishing village is located on Tri Nguyen Island (Hon Mieu) – the closest island to the mainland among the islands in Nha Trang Bay, Khanh Hoa. It is just over 1km from the mainland, equivalent to a 15-20 minute journey by local ferry.

The small fishing village is peaceful, not bustling, and retains much of its original, rustic charm. A local ferry departs every 10 minutes, with a fare of 5,000 VND per person per trip.

On the island, there is a local market selling dishes like banh can, banh xeo, fish noodles, crab noodles, sweet soup, and coconut water for 5,000-20,000 VND, very affordable. The islanders raise many seafood cages with various types such as green lobsters, spiny lobsters, grouper, and cobia, all fresh and reasonably priced.

Nestled in Vinh Hai Commune, Khanh Hoa Province (formerly part of Ninh Thuan Province), Vinh Hy Bay has recently emerged as a popular destination thanks to its dramatic yet poetic landscape.

The fishing village of the same name offers various services, from homestays and seafood restaurants to souvenir shops and boat tours. Residents, both hospitable and hard-working, divide their time between fishing and tourism. At dawn, the village wharf comes alive with the bustle of trade, before visitors set off on canoes or boats to explore the bay’s small islands and hidden caves.

Fresh seafood - lobsters, squids and shellfish - is plentiful, delicious and fairly priced, making Vinh Hy a memorable stop on any coastal journey.
