WVR - On November 2, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang received former U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang appreciated Mr. Marc Knapper's contributions during his tenure as Ambassador (2022–2026), which helped to advance Vietnam–U.S. relations, particularly the upgrade to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2023. The two sides discussed opportunities to enhance economic cooperation, attract investment, and develop an International Financial Centre in Vietnam, emphasising the importance of ensuring a transparent, stable, and favourable investment environment for businesses.
Regarding preparations for APEC 2027, the Deputy Minister urged Mr. Marc Knapper to continue leveraging his experience and networking role to support Vietnam in promoting substantial participation and contributions from the U.S. business community in APEC 2027 activities. Mr. Marc Knapper regarded APEC as a suitable channel for the business community to promote regional cooperation and expressed his readiness to share ideas and proposals to enhance business participation and maximize cooperation opportunities during APEC 2027.

Mr. Marc Knapper affirmed his continued support for advancing bilateral relations and expressed his willingness to contribute his experience and connect partners to expand cooperation with Vietnam.
